Manchester United midfielder Angel Gomes has recalled making his debut as a 16 year-old.
Gomes became the club’s youngest ever player since Duncan Edwards to make his debut three years ago.
He told the Official Manchester United Podcast, “Yeah I forget that sometimes and when people remind me I just think ‘wow’ and it rejogs back into my head. No, it was crazy.
“I remember just warming up, Mourinho was shouting at me and I was just daydreaming staring at the fans, stretching. And then it wasn’t until a steward was like ‘Angel’ and I looked back and he was like ‘the manager’ and I was like ‘oh, I’m actually gonna come on’. And I just remember Rooney walking off and I was just like ‘whoa’.”
