Missing EgyptAir Flight MS804 Crashed Into Mediterranean Sea

An EgyptAir plane that disappeared from radar early Thursday is believed to have crashed into the Mediterranean Sea. Search and rescue teams from Egypt and Greece are currently looking for debris and any survivors, Egypt’s civil aviation ministry said. Cause of the crash is unknown at this time. However, the pilot had more than 6,000 hours of flight experience, the airline said. The co-pilot had nearly 3,000 flying hours. EgyptAir Flight 804 heading from Paris to Cairo has disappeared from radar with 66 people on board. The plane was flying at 37,000 feet when it disappeared shortly after entering Egyptian airspace, the airline tweeted. The Egyptian navy has started conducting search and rescue operations in the area. The Airbus A320 had 56 passengers on board, said Capt. Ahmed Adel, a vice chairman at EgyptAir. Passengers included two infants, one child and 10 crew members. Earlier, the airline said 59 people were on board.
