In two friendly matches against Austria, Germany’s U-16s prevailed with 3-1 and 2-1 wins, with Moukoko featuring for just 12 minutes in the first friendly, played on Monday.
On Wednesday, however, the striker played from the start and made his full debut at any youth international level one to remember. His first-half double, which won Germany the game, stole the show in Austria.
His first goal came after just 11 minutes – an impressive first-time volley with his left foot – and he followed it up 13 minutes later, with a powerful near-post finish following a corner. That proved enough to seal the win for Germany, even if Austria managed to pull one back in the second half.
Germany’s U-16s play two games against Belgium in October, and a further two games against the Czech Republic in November. After his impressive performance, not to mention his prolific tally of 13 goals in five appearances for the Dortmund U-17s so far this season, Moukoko is sure to be involved again for Michael Feichtenbeiner’s side.
