Sergio Romero Wants To Leave Man Utd Immediately

Manchester United and Argentine international Sergio Romero has asked to be released by Club to move to the Major league Soccer. Romero's chances of playing time died out when loanee Dean Henderson returned from his spell with Sheffield United. Romero was heavily linked with a move to Everton but did not happen as fans expected it to be a deadline day transfer but signed Roma's keeper Robin Olsen instead as United demanded a high price. As first reported by the Sun, Romero is happy to leave the premier league Giants without a £1.5million pay out fee which he will be owed to secure a move to the United States. The Player Harry Redknapp Thinks Liverpool Should Have Signed On Transfer Deadline Day

Harry Redknapp believes Liverpool made a mistake by not signing Manchester United's Sergio Romero as a backup goalkeeper following Adrian's woeful display against Aston Villa. Adrian replaced the injured Alisson and conceded seven goals as Liverpool lost 7-2 to Villa on Sunday. Jurgen Klopp was thought to be in the market for a keeper after Liverpool's No.1 suffered a training ground injury which will keep him out of action for a reported four to six weeks. But the German boss failed to bring anyone in on deadline day with Redknapp suggesting they missed a trick. Speaking on Sky Sports News, he said: "You would have thought he (Romero) might have gone to Liverpool. "Liverpool need a goalkeeper. They need a goalkeeper more than Everton. "If Alisson is out for a while, ...

Man Utd vs Copenhagen: I Must Make Difficult Decision About Goalkeepers – Solskjaer

Manchester United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has admitted he must make a “difficult” decision as he chooses who becomes first-choice goalkeeper next season. Solskjaer stuck with David de Gea last season, despite a string of high-profile errors. However, De Gea will have two top keepers pushing him next season. Argentina international Sergio Romero is regarded as the best back-up option in the Premier League and Dean Henderson will return from an impressive two seasons on loan at Sheffield United. “I think I must be the most privileged manager in the world with the goalkeeping department,” Solskhaer said ahead of United’s Europa League quarter-final tie with Copenhagen. “We’ll see what we’ll do going forward. Difficult? Yes. But that’s a good problem to have.” United...

FA Cup: Manchester United 1 – 0 Wolverhampton

It had appeared last season that Juan Mata was on his way out of Manchester United and that this campaign he was becoming little more than a bit part player but he re-emerged to score the vital goal which earned them a FA Cup Third Round replay victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers. Mata has given the impression of reaching veteran status, despite being just 31, and when he collected Anthony Martial’s clever pass there was an awful lot of the Old Trafford pitch to cover. But the midfielder did just that and showed a surprising turn of pace as he held off defenders before deftly lifting the ball over Wolves goalkeeper John Ruddy who clattered into him. It lifted the atmosphere also around Old Trafford, far from full once more for a cup game and despite there being 3,000 Wolves f...

No Messi, No Problem As Argentina Beat Iraq 4-0

Argentina shrugged off the absence of Lionel Messi as a second-string team eased past Iraq 4-0 in an international friendly in Riyadh on Thursday. Interim coach Lionel Scaloni used the match to blood a host of new talent with goalkeeper Sergio Romero, defender Ramiro Funes Mori and striker Paulo Dybala the only experienced players in the line-up. Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez opened the scoring in the 18th minute with a near-post header from a left wing cross by Marcos Acuna. Roberto Pereyra grabbed the second in the 53rd minute when the Watford player finished off a smart one-two with Dybala. Fiorentina defender German Pezzella headed the third goal from a corner past over-worked Iraq goalkeeper Jalal Hassan with Franco Cervi breaking through the defence for the fourth goal ...

Mourinho Confirms David de Gea Will Start Against Basle

Mourinho favoured Sergio Romero in the Europa League last season, starting 12 of their 15 games as United battled on both foreign and domestic fronts during a hectic campaign. But the Portuguese has decided he will not rotate between his two goalkeepers in Europe this term, insisting he doesn't like to earmark certain players for certain competitions. Asked whether De Gea and Romero would share the duties in the Champions League, the United boss replied: 'No, I go match by match. 'I don't like that clear separation of you play this competition, I play this competition. David is really well and really confident and I go with David.' And the Spain international has reason to be confident, conceding only two goals in United's opening four games of the Premier League season. De Gea's side...
