WAEC Withholds SSCE Results Of 215,149 Candidates

The West African Examinations Council, on Monday, announced that it withheld the results of 215,149 candidates who sat for the 2020 West African Senior School Certificate Examination in Nigeria. The Council said the results of the candidates representing 13.98% of the total number of candidates who wrote the examination are being withheld in connection with various reported cases of examination malpractice. The management of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has delisted 22 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres for allegedly defrauding 11,823 candidates to the tune of N59million.  JAMB's Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede who made the announcement during a meeting with representatives of the affected centres on Thursday August 27, added that any centre that shared the same ownership with the blacklisted centres would be suspended from all JAMB activities. The National Examinations Council (NECO) has published the results of candidates, who sat for their November/December 2019 Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) for external candidates. This was announced by Mohammed Gana, the Acting Registrar of the Council on Thursday. In a statement, Gana stated that the results are available 49 days after the last paper was written. JAMB Set To Revalidate Biometrics Of Candidates Over Last 10 Years

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says it will revalidate the biometrics of all candidates who have participated in its examination in the last 10 years. This is contained in a statement by the board’s Head, Media and Information, Dr Fabian Benjamin, issued on Sunday in Lagos. According to the statement, the revalidation has become necessary in a bid to detect impersonation. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has cancelled results of two Computer Based Test (CBT) centres in Abia State over widespread irregularities during the just-concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
