Former Presidential spokesperson, Reno Omokri has stated that President Buhari's daughter, Zahra and other Nigerian youths who said that "looting has shown that the Nigerian leader is not the problem" are misguided. SIM Card: Court Awards N10M Against DSS, Absolves Buhari’s Daughter

A Federal High Court in Asaba has awarded N10m in damages against the Department of State Services for illegally detaining a trader, Anthony Okolie, for 10 weeks without charge. Justice Nnamdi Dimgba, however, struck out the prayer requesting the President’s daughter, Hanan Buhari, and telecoms company, MTN, to pay N500m.Dimgba delivered his judgement on Thursday. Okolie, had sued the President’s daughter as well as the DSS and MTN over his 10-week detention after purchasing a SIM card previously owned by Hanan. In a suit filed on his behalf by human rights lawyer, Tope Akinyode, the applicant sued all parties for N500m jointly and separately. An Abuja-based lawyer, Mr Oluwatosin Ojaomo, has sued, the daughter of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), for alleged illegal use of the presidential aircraft for a private visit to Bauchi State on January 10. Saturday PUNCH, on Friday, obtained copies of the processes filed by the claimant at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja on February 6. Hanan is the sole defendant in the suit marked CV/1023/2020. The claimant urged the court to order Hanan to refund the costs of both the “fueling” of the aircraft and “the travel logistics” incurred to the Federal Government’s consolidated revenue fund account. DSS Detains Man For Using Sim Card Previously Used By Buhari’s Daughter

Operatives of Nigeria’s Department of State Service allegedly arrested and detained a man Anthony Okolie for purchasing a sim card that was previously used by Hannan, a daughter of Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari. Okolie told The Guardian on Monday that he bought the MTN mobile phone sim card in 2018, two years before his arrest. He was arrested on Monday, July 22 at Nnedisi Road, Asaba, Delta State. Okolie was taken to Abuja by the DSS operatives and was kept in custody until his release in December 2019. Efforts to get DSS reaction to the allegation proved abortive as phone calls and a text message to its spokesman Peter Afunanya were not immediately responded to.
